Your travel router companion.

Live battery, cellular signal, SIM usage, tunnels, and connected clients from any GL.iNet (or OpenWrt-based) router — in the macOS menu bar, on your iPhone, and on your iPad. Everything direct over SSH. No router cloud account. No telemetry.

Free tier installs immediately. Glint Pro is a $9.99 one-time IAP with a 7-day free trial — Family Sharing supported.

macOS

Anchored menu-bar popover plus a standalone window. WidgetKit extension mirrors the live state into Notification Center.

iPhone

Drawer-style sidebar (Dashboard / Messages / USSD / Speedtest / Logs / Settings). Live Activity pins router state to the Lock Screen and Dynamic Island.

iPad

Same code as iPhone with a fixed-width sidebar that swipe-toggles instead of overlaying. Same SSH session, same live data.

Free vs Pro — full breakdown

Optional companion daemon

Install glintd on the router and you get continuous 24 h history (graphs survive app closures and router reboot) plus push notifications for the events above. Glint works without it — the daemon is opt-in, MIT-licensed, ~1.5 k LOC of Python you can read. Universal across GL.iNet boxes — capabilities are detected at startup, no per-model code.

Tested routers

Tested end-to-end: Mudi 7 (GL-E5800), Slate 7 (GL-BE3600), Puli AX (GL-XE3000), Flint 3 (GL-BE9300), Flint 3e (GL-BE6500), Flint 2 (GL-MT6000).

Generally works (probes may stumble on older firmware): Mudi V2, Beryl AX (GL-MT3000), Slate AX (GL-AXT1800), Flint 1, Mango (GL-MT300N).

Should work on any OpenWrt 21+ device that exposes SSH (ed25519), ubus, /tmp/sysinfo/model, wg for tunnels, and smstools3 for SMS on cellular boards.

Privacy

No analytics. No telemetry. No remote logging. Connection-level data (router IPs, SIM IMEI, signal, SMS) stays between your device and your router. The push relay we operate forwards encrypted notification payloads to Apple's APNs and stores nothing.

Glint connects directly over SSH using your own ed25519 key. Settings and saved routers sync across your devices via iCloud. SSH keys, SMS, and metric history stay on the device.
